Yeah. I talk now. I’ve been in psych hospital since January 7.

The psychiatrist believes I’m bipolar type 2.

I will try lithium.

Tony, I'm so glad you are with us! Please talk to someone when you are feeling down, I know it often seems like there is no way out, but talking usually opens a door. Get better soon Dude!

Hugs,

Allie

I was shocked to here about the atempt but I know what it is like,... I have been close myself.
That treatment sounds interesting. I think it has been around for quite a while and has a good reputation unlike ECT.
It is so good to hear you are doing OK.

I hope you can get to the bottom of the issue driving the bad times.

I found certain trusted people good for dealing with the bad times, just being able to talk in confidence helps so much. I found the really low mood/ loss of hope is only bad for days or weeks and then eases off.

Glad to hear you are well,
                                            warm regards, Kirsten.

After my suicide attempt last week I got into a science program for rTMS. It is magnetical waves into the brain. Instead of ECT. I’ve been treated 6 times, 14 left. I FEEL ALIVE!! I feel like myself. I cal smile and laugh! On only 6 treatments. It is absolutely amazing.

I have also told everyone at the hospital that I’m a dude. They will call me by my name.

Allie, you can relax.  All the ladies are concerned about their own hair (almost similar to the bathroom fear - and no reason for it).  And you can relax and enjoy it when they fumble around with your hair.

Linde, I actually love people playing with my hair and my colleague gave me a hint to take my iPad so I can check up on my forums while I am waiting for the next procedure. I can also get some selfies!

Katie, I suppose I am like many others who see similar parts of our lives. It sucks that we are born into a lifetime of pain, but it is how you handle it which shows the person that you truly are. You should be proud of the way you have handled your situation, and of the person you have become.

Hugs,

Thank you for making me confident for my first time having my hair coloured Lexxi! My stylist did exactly the same colour and highlights to one of my work colleagues last week, and it looks great. This will be my first time being in a salon for more than an hour, talking to the other girls. I'm more scared of that than copper hair!

Allie

Hi Allie,

I hope you like being blonde. I'm a dishwater blond myself, but I have some pretty awesome natural highlights in my hair too that are regular blond. I love the blonder hair color most of all.

I hope what happened to me one time doesn't happen to you though. When my hair started getting darker I really didn't like it. So I went to a hair stylist to get some light blond added to it. I wanted that look where just the tips of my hair were super blond.

The stylist asked me how much coverage I wanted and I said that I wanted it all over, meaning that I wanted all of the tips super blond. Well in hair dyeing parlance "all over" means something else entirely. She dyed all of my hair all over instead of just the tips. My hair didn't take it very well and it turned the color of a brand new shiny copper penny. I looked ridiculous to say the least. I mean I looked like a total clown.

After she got done with my hair I went home and started cooking dinner for my wife. I was standing at the stove when she came in from work, and she screamed from the top of her lungs and I whirled around to see what was going on. She seemed to be looking at me, but I surmised that there must be someone coming at me from behind...so I whirled around in that direction but there was no one there.

So I turned back around and asked my wife why she screamed and scared the living daylights out of me. She said because she didn't recognize me because my hair was copper colored, and she thought a stranger had broken into the house. Of course we got a big laugh out of that.

After we got done laughing at our predicament she informed me that I was going to be going back to the hair stylist the next day and get my hair fixed. My wife used to be a hair stylist and told me what I needed to tell the stylist to fix my hair. I went the next morning and had it fixed and it looked pretty good after she got done with it.

So I hope your foray into hair dyeing goes better than my first time.

xoxo

I have thought for years about dyeing my hair silver. However it will probably get there by itself if I am patient enough. I love the look of silver hair.
We can trade, you get my color, and I get yours!
